Coy is a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Virginia where he teaches the history of Virginia, Charlottesville, UVA, and the life of Thomas Jefferson. Coy offers a Local History class each fall and a class on the history of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the second semester. His courses are offered through the University’s School for Continuing and Professional Studies.

Coy is a sought-after guest speaker and has lectured to groups throughout the country on the subjects of leadership and American history. He speaks frequently to corporations, civic groups, and schools.
